![]() Position: Internship – Environmental Education Issue Date: January 22, 2014 Closing Date: Open Until Filled Hours: Flexible- Tuesday-Saturday, between 8AM and 4 PM, up to 29 hours per week. Some weekends & nights required based on program requirements. Staff & interns will work to create a set schedule. Salary: $8.75-$9.50 per hour Dates: Summer 2014 (May – August) Primary Function: Education Interns will be responsible for leading education tours and activities at the center for visiting school, home school, and camp groups. Interns will also work with staff during at least one of our six weeks of outdoor summer camp, and will work in the field with other outdoor camps as necessary. Group tours occur Tuesday-Friday, in the morning and afternoon. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, greeting guests, caring for aquatic life, assisting in species collection, participating in outreach events, coordinating and recruiting volunteers, leading children’s programs, and assisting with special events. Education Interns are also encouraged to create, implement, and evaluate their own interest program or project during their time at the River Center with the assistance of our Educators.
